October Reflections | Coming Home to Yourself

Oct 6
3 min read

There is something about October that invites us to slow down.

The air becomes crisp. The leaves begin to change. The landscape around us transforms almost overnight.

And as nature begins its own transition, perhaps it is a gentle invitation for us to turn inward, too.

To pause.

To listen.

To remember ourselves.

This Month's Reflection: Coming Home to Yourself

Somewhere along the way, life can become filled with so many roles.

We are caregivers. Partners. Parents. Friends. Business owners. Employees. Helpers. Organizers. Problem solvers.

We become so accustomed to taking care of everything and everyone around us that we can sometimes lose touch with the person underneath it all.

You.

The part of you that has dreams.

The part of you that knows what feels right and what doesn't.

The part of you that longs for joy, connection, creativity, adventure, rest, or simply a little more space to breathe.

Coming home to yourself doesn't mean changing who you are.

It means remembering.

Remembering what lights you up.

Remembering what matters to you.

Remembering the things you may have set aside while taking care of everything else.

And sometimes, coming home to yourself begins with something very simple:

Getting quiet enough to hear your own inner voice again.

Wisdom From the Herd

One of the things I love most about being around the horses is that they don't ask us to be anything other than who we are.

They don't care about our accomplishments.

They don't care about our titles.

They don't care how productive we were today.

They simply meet us where we are.

And when we slow down enough to truly be present with them, something beautiful can happen.

We begin to slow down, too.

We breathe.

We notice.

We feel.

We reconnect.

Perhaps that is one of the greatest gifts the Healing Herd offers us—the opportunity to put everything else aside for a little while and simply BE.

A Moment to Reflect

Find a quiet moment this month and ask yourself:

What part of me have I been longing to reconnect with?

Maybe it's your playful side.

Your creative side.

Your adventurous side.

Your peaceful side.

Your dreams.

Your voice.

Or perhaps it's simply the part of you that wants to feel more like YOU again.

Don't judge the answer.

Just listen.

Something to Try This Month

Give yourself 10 minutes.

No phone.

No to-do list.

No distractions.

Step outside if you can. Sit somewhere quiet. Take a few slow breaths and notice what is around you. Put your hand on your heart.

Then ask yourself:

"What do I need more of in my life right now?"

You don't have to solve anything.

You don't have to make a plan.

Just listen.

Sometimes the first step toward change is simply becoming aware of what your heart has been trying to tell you.

October Affirmation

I give myself permission to come home to who I truly am. I listen to my heart, honor my needs, and make space for the things that bring me joy, peace, and meaning.

A Little Reminder From Blissful Existence Healing Acres

You don't have to have everything figured out.

You don't have to know exactly where you're going.

And you don't have to become someone else to create a life that feels authentic and meaningful.

You are allowed to pause.

You are allowed to listen.

You are allowed to change.

You are allowed to want something different.

And most importantly—

You are allowed to come home to yourself.

Thank you for being part of our herd and for allowing us to share a little piece of Blissful Existence Healing Acres with you each month.

May October bring you quiet moments, meaningful connection, and gentle reminders of the beautiful person you already are.
